The
bodyCushion and Athletic Training

A frequent problem in the
training room is how to apply an effective treatment with the
athlete prone. Typically the athlete is lying flat, face down and
the trainer is trying to apply the use of pillows and rolled towels
to improve the athlete's position on the table.
Now there is a solution to
this often confronted problem.
It's called the
bodyCushionTM
The bodyCusion
is a high tech system of support, an advanced
orthopedic positioner, that considers the athlete's entire
body.

When face down, the
athlete's torso is suspended on the bony landmarks of its frame: The
clavicles, sternum, ribs below the breasts, and the
anterior-superior-iliac spines. The athlete's body is fully
supported in a very relaxed position. Muscles and joints are
relieved of pressure and strain. Key muscle groups, relative to
joint structures, are shortened and relaxed allowing the effect of
positional release to come into play during the application of any
modality. The modality of choice may be ice, stim, ultrasound, or
massage and in each case the application of treatment is enhanced.
Gravity actually becomes an adjunct modality when you position your
athlete's on the bodyCusion . In fact,
gravity can be the only modality simply by positioning the athlete
on the bodyCusion.
The bodyCusion
allows the trainer to have maximum control over the
applied treatments. The positioning of the bodyCusion
affords the trainer complete access to body parts and
muscle groups in ways not possible if the athlete is lying on a flat
table, even using pillows and rolled towels.

The bodyCusion
is lightweight, compact, and travels easily on the
bus, train or airplane. Once at your destination, any ordinary
folding banquet table can be used in combination with the
bodyCusion to provide your athlete the
most comfortable positioning possible, anywhere! Even a bleacher
bench can be the foundation for incredibly effective
applications.
Positioning with the
bodyCusion can make a big difference in
the process of therapeutic interventions, allowing the best outcomes
possible.
